Renting a Car after an Accident
Two weeks ago I was on my way back from a trip to Fort Lauderdale. I wanted to get back home in order to pick up my kids from school and after sitting at a red light for a few moments the light changed to green. I slowly proceeded through the intersection when out of nowhere a car from the opposite direction ran the opposing red light and clipped the backend of my car. I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t appear to be hurt but the other car kept going. I called my insurance company and they contacted my kid’s school and made arrangements for a Fort Lauderdale car rental.
Even though the arrangements had been made, I couldn’t stop feeling anxious until I got home to Orlando and confirmed that my kids were safely retrieved by my husband. I was concerned that the accident didn’t happen locally and that the repairs weren’t nearby. However, the repair shop said if I ran out of insurance coverage I could always turn my rental to an Orlando car rental agency.
Fortunately, the car was fixed in less than a week and I was able to drive back to Fort Lauderdale to pick up my car and drop off my rental where the dealership rents Fort Lauderdale rental cars. Now I finally have my car back and I am a little more observant at stop lights.
