What I love about being a mother
As a mother of two small children, I truly believe that these are the best years of my life. While it is taxing to fulfill the needs of two little ones, I try to slow down and enjoy the small things that make motherhood so rewarding. Whipping a tear after a fall, bringing home a particularly sinful treat from the bakery or teaching them about hummingbirds can conger up images in my head that will last me a lifetime of memories. Each year, the energy surrounding holidays is special. From the time preschool starts to the moment the kids get out for winter break, the excitement never ends. At Halloween, the kids enjoy party after party to ring in the autumn and to kick off the holiday season.
Our son parades around the house swinging his light saber, dressed up in his darth vader costume. Our twin girls prance around in their princess dresses, one in her cinderella costume and waiting for her magic pumpkin to arrive to take her to the ball. The other twin, donning her mermaid costume, tries to sing and dance in her shimmering green gown and channel her inner Ariel. I snap as many pictures as they will let me take because I want to hold these memories close to my heart always.
