Light Cosmetic Dentistry
I used to think that Cosmetic Dentistry was something that involved a big process and resulted in a huge change to the person’s entire appearance. Then I made friends with someone who ended up being a Cosmetic Dentist. He convinced me to come into his office and learn more about what cosmetic dentistry is all about.
It turns out that there are varying degrees of cosmetic dental procedures. Yes, there are some people who get a serious makeover to their mouth when they go to see a cosmetic dentist. But there are also people who get work that could be considered “light cosmetic dentistry”. This stuff improves their smile without changing their appearance dramatically.
An example of this type of cosmetic dentistry is tooth whitening. The smile is nicer than it was before the procedure but the procedure itself isn’t difficult and there isn’t a shocking change to the face when it’s complete. I never would’ve even known that something as simple as this was cosmetic dentistry but it sure is. Learning this made me a lot less afraid of cosmetic surgery in general because it helped me to realize that there are varying degrees of cosmetic procedures to meet anyone’s needs.
