3 Haunted House Memories
With Halloween almost here I’ve been doing some reminiscing about my childhood experiences of the holiday. My favorite part of Halloween was always the haunted houses. 3 different haunted houses really stand out in my mind as I think back:
- The First One. The very first haunted house that I went to is indelibly burned into my brain. My dad took me when I was just a little kid. I’m sure that it wasn’t really that scary but I was terrified. And yet, I was also hooked!
- The Neighbor’s Place. We had an old neighborhood who turned his own house into a haunted house for Halloween one year. He was elderly and had a stairlift installed so he could get up and down the stairs. He turned the stairway into a creepy hall of horrors and let us ride the stairlift up in the dark. Spooky fun!
- The One We Did. When my friends and I were in our late teens, we decided to create our own haunted house for our friends and siblings. It was so much fun to put it together and to act out the characters in the haunted house. That is probably my favorite memory of any Halloween!
