Do Your Work With All Your Heart
You probably spend about eight hours of every day at your job. If you don’t put your heart into it then this is a lot of time that you probably feel like you’re wasting. It’s not easy to give your heart to a job but it makes doing your work a whole lot more pleasant. It also makes you do better at your career.
You may be thinking that it’s impossible to do your job with heart. However, any job can be done this way if you put effort into it. Let’s say that your job is to provide disability insurance quotes over the phone to potential customers. Does that sound boring to you? What if you thought of it as providing an amazingly helpful service to people who are struggling to pay their bills as a result of their disability? What if you tried to find ways to make the phone call easier for them? Looking at your work this way makes you feel like putting more of your heart into it, doesn’t it?
Doing your work with your heart means that you really work at doing it consciously. You strive to be present in your work at all times. You aim to do the best job that you can even if you don’t love the work that you are doing. You do this because it makes work more enjoyable and because it makes you a better employee.
