General Contractor
As a general contractor I take pride in the work I provide for my customers. I no longer find the need to advertise because the business I generate by word of mouth references is already more than I can handle. I feel free to brag that the millwork I provide my customers is second to none. The painters I hire and electrical experts give me their best possible work. The relationship I have with the people I hire out is one of mutual respect and family.
Lately I have been advising my commercial customers to be sure to contact someone regarding doing a cost segregation study. Most of my customers have been surprised by receiving such advice from me versus their CPA but once they contact their CPA they realize how accurate I am in offering such a suggestion. I have learned over the years that much of the temporary structures businesses need qualify for accelerated depreciation. What this means to them is lower quarterly taxes.
Every business owner of fixed assets should contact their CPA or a cost seg expert to conduct a study and determine their net present value. It can be pleasantly surprising to find out your quarterly taxes have been dramatically reduced. I know I was pleased.
